After the fleece has been fully dried (at our current temperature it only takes hours!), there are a few process that can take place, the one we will descibe today is combing. Wool 'combing' aligns all the fibres in one direction and gets rid of excess vegetable matter and second cut fiber, to create a very refined and smooth product or 'roving' for spinning. This process will take many hours, most likely the summer to complere a good portion of the fleece (and is a little dangerous - if you noticed the spikes on the combs!), but is worth every effort for the spinner!
