Islas is Spanish for 'islands'. The particular island our yarn is named after is the Falkland Islands.

These sheep are a mixed breed living on Falkland Islands off the coast of Argentina and have been there since the 1850's. Due to the cooler climate and absence of many types of bacteria, this environment surprisingly creates perfect conditions for growing extremely white fleeces, making it an excellent choice for dyeing, as well as having a beautiful softness and luster.
